Embracing Life Without Limits                            September 25, 2013

Dear friends,

Have you heard Nick Vujicic speak?  I heard him last October.  He was a featured
speaker at a Pastor's Conference.  He gave one of the most uplifting testimonies I
have ever heard in my life.  He left me with tears in my ears but hope in my heart.

Nick was born with phocomelia, a fancy term for children born with missing or
malformed limbs.  He has no arms or legs.  The only appendages he has are two
small feet attached at the hip.  Yet at 31 years old he has done more than many of
us dream of doing in a life time.

In the introduction to his book, Life Without Limits, he says, "People often expect
someone with a severe disability to be inactive, maybe even angry or withdrawn.  I
like to surprise them by showing them that I lead a very adventurous and fulfilling
existence."

As a matter of fact you can find videos on You-tube with Nick doing all kinds of
things that normal kids do.  Catch him on a skateboard.  Watch him go surfing.
Enjoy him playing music.  He goofs on people by falling down and then getting up.

He has spoken to audiences around the world and inspired thousands upon
thousands with his zest for life.  Nick's message is simple.  God loves you and me.
He made us the way we are.  We are all imperfect, yet He has a plan for each of us.
He will give us whatever we need in order to live life to its fullest.  And with that he
says, "If I can do it, so can you! "

The truth is that we are a lot like Nick.  We may not have his particular challenges
but we all have those things that threaten to knock us down.  I pray that you and I
may look at him, and others we have known, as inspiration and an encouragement
to trust God and to celebrate what we do have so we can live a life without limits.

God bless.  See you in church.  Cal
