A Gift Wrapped in Love February 12, 2014
Barbasol shaving cream is the cheapest thing on the market. I used to buy it for
99 cents. The idea of spending a lot of money on something you are going to use
for two minutes goes against my very nature.
Maybe that's because I don't know any better. I recently received a gift that was
like nothing I had ever received before. The label read, "Shaving Cream -
Sandlewood essential oils."
It was from a company called, "The Art of Shaving." My daughter told me it was
expensive and supposed to be very good. On their web site they included an
invitation to join the "Brotherhood of Shaving." They believed that once you
experienced it, you wanted to know more.
I have to be honest with you. I would have never tried this shaving cream if I
hadn't received it as a gift. It came wrapped in love from my daughter. Now I can't
wait to use it every morning. It keeps blessing me again and again.
That's how it is with God's love. You have got to experience it before you can
really appreciate it. Maybe that is why so many people don't seem interested in a
relationship with God. They think it is too costly and not worth their time.
They have all kinds of preconceived notions about what it means. You and I know
better. As people of faith, we need to tell our stories and let our friends know what
a blessing it is to worship and serve the Lord. It is a gift and God wants us to share
I would have never known about this shaving cream if my daughter hadn't given it
to me. It was just too expensive. When it comes to God though, the price has
already been paid. That's the Good News. You can share it and your friends can
experience the gift of the love of God in an unending supply now and forever more.
God bless. See you in church! Cal
